The final stages of our first album:

It has taken us almost 20 months to get from writing down our first musical ideas to this stage. The throw away thought of releasing our own work became a full time project. Songs have been pulled apart and re-written, tweaked and re-shuffled and that was before we even set foot into the recording studio.
This has been a joint venture and a learning curve for the both of us. We didn't really know where to start or how to deliever our work into the world. It has taken months of creating orchestrations (Steve is incredible at this), writing, editing, producing and we are now finally at the stage where our tracks have been mastered for distribution platforms and streaming services.
Putting your work out to the public is a risk and we have no idea if people will like it or if it will even get listened to. The point is we have done it and we are extremely proud. We have recorded and have to hand nine fantastic original tunes, written by us. Not covers, nor remakes, just originals. The best feeling for me is that there are a couple of numbers that will be on our album that I wrote years ago whilst working in retail in London. Shaky chord strums on my guitar have become full orchestral ballad pieces. They sound exactly how I heard them when I first jotted the lyrics down all those years ago.
So what happens next? Well we will release our first single Stand My Ground within the next week or so. It is a number which we both feel quite passionate about. We have a love for big production sounds and this is a song which really gets the point of what kind of duo we are (or would like to be). Then we'll release an EP and then finally the whole album next summer.
There are no expectations with this single etc, but if you don't try you won't know. Our album Worlds Away is a mix of musical styles and genres. We show a diversity in eclectic music and have everything from ballads through to country and even medieval (I know, but it'll make sense when you hear that one!) But our main passion are big production numbers which you will hear in Stand My Ground and our Bond style theme Prince Of Men.

We have already started writing numbers for our second album and we are hoping our skills will have developed from this project. Now that we both have an understanding of how to do this and get it out into the world there really is no stopping us.
If you do get a chance to listen to any of our numbers please feel free to leave us a comment below and tell us what you think.

Worlds Away will be released on all major streaming platforms in the coming week.
